Honors Civil Liberties and Constitutional Law
In this course students will learn about certain moral, social, political, and economic issues confronting American Catholics. The course will examine the function of government, the role of the American citizen, and that citizen’s civil liberties and responsibilities in light of Catholic social teaching and prominent Catholic philosophers such as Augustine and Aquinas, as well as contemporary Catholic philosophers and Church documents.
This is an advanced level course and builds upon the knowledge the student obtained in the basic American Government Course.
