Adjust the program to fit the child, not the child to fit the program.
Dr. Mary Kay Clark, Director Emeritus of Seton Home Study SchoolBecause every child is unique and may need different levels of study in certain areas, the Lesson Plans indicate what is required, optional, and supplemental. You can then adjust the Lesson Plans to meet the needs of your child and family. Flexibility is in our DNA. Here is a copy of a print ad that we used about 20 years ago. It was true then and it will still be true 20 years from now.
Note: An enrollment term lasts for 12 months (plus a 2-month grace period) from the start date you choose (by default, this is the day you enroll or Sept 1 for summer enrollments). Books are yours to keep, but lesson plans need to be returned to Seton (you are free to write in them). PreK, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and Special Services enrollments are given extra time to finish. The enrollment term for each of those is 24 months. After an enrollment has expired, it is possible to get up to two 6-month extensions for an additional fee.
You can use as much or as little of the curriculum as you like, but if you need for Seton to record an official grade for a course on a transcript, only some courses can be substituted while still receiving a Seton grade.
The Value of Your Enrollment
Your enrollment provides you with much more than just a box of books. It provides an accredited education, a strong support system, and a community of staff and homeschoolers who are in your corner. It provides access to academic and support counseling, grading and record keeping, and a solid Catholic curriculum that promotes strong Catholic values in each and every subject.
Catholic Materials
All of our books and materials are thoroughly Catholic, from beginning to end.
